Putting the Golf Course to Bed for the Winter - Part II
A Blog Post By: Craig McKinley, Course Superintendent
As I mentioned last week, there is a laundry-list of tasks that need to be accomplished in order to ensure a healthy golf course in 2016. In today's post, I will be explaining another of our important fall tasks.

If you were able to enjoy a round of fall golf with us before we closed for the 2015 season, you were lucky to see some of the most stunning color and views in the state. That beauty comes with a lot of leaves dropping in the fall. With that being said, a large portion of our fall labor involves keeping the golf course clean and playable for our patrons. An average day has two crew members, spending 8 hours blowing leaves. Going into winter with the golf course as clean as possible, means less time prepping it during the spring months.

Now that we have wrapped-up the 2015 season, I would like to take this opportunity to thank a very special group of people who make-up the Bucks Run Grounds Crew. These guys  and gals wake-up early every day and work hard to give our patrons a golfing experience we hope they won't ever forget. Working with all of them this season has been a privilege and I am excited for what next season will bring.

By name, I would like to thank Bill our Mechanic, Mike our Crew Foreman, Missy, Brian, Bob, Wally, Fred, Daryl, Greg, Luke, Dave D., Dave F., and Dave S. Thanks guys!

And last, but not least, thank you to all who joined us for the 2015 golfing season. It was a great year and it has been a  pleasure having you join us on the course!
