We are Open!

The course is officially open for play for the 2015 season. Opening day is always an exciting time. The weather forecast has things feeling a bit more spring like starting this Saturday.

On Monday, we cut greens for the first time, cut new cups, and raked bunkers. This time of year we have a skeleton crew of three. Throughout this week, they will concentrate on course clean up, adding sand to bunkers, and rolling greens.

Bucks Run Golf Club Mount Pleasant MI First Day

The grass is still waking up from its long winter nap. Considering this, tees and fairways are probably still a week away from being cut for the first time. Roughs are probably about two weeks or more away from their first cut. Also, greens will not be on a regular mowing schedule for the next couple of weeks until they start actively growing, we will roll them in place of mowing during this time.

Bucks Run Golf Club Mount Pleasant MI Grass After Winter

If you have been following this blog or our social media, you know that we took on some renovations in the off-season. At this time, we ask that you do not play from any of the sodded tees on 15 and 17. They were sodded early winter and have not rooted in yet. We hope to have the tees ready for play sometime in May. In the meantime, please play where the tee markers are set on 15 and 17. Your cooperation will help ensure a speedy opening to the new tees.

We look forward to seeing you on the course this year!
