Fun Halloween Cocktails!

Blog Post By: Alanna Lieber, Banquet Coordinator

Halloween is only a few weeks away! This means the time has come to finalize the details of your costume, as well as your party cocktails. Therefore, I am excited to share three delicious recipes with you that are ghoulish and simple to make.

Poison Apple Cocktail

1 ounce vanilla vodka
½ ounce orange liqueur (such as Cointreau)
1 ounce sour apple schnapps
½ ounce fresh lemon juice
1-2 ounces champagne

Moisten the rim of a cocktail glass with a sliced lemon and dip in Pumpkin Patch Orange Pop Rocks.  Place the vodka, liqueur, schnapps and lemon juice in a shaker with ice.  Shake until cold and strain into the cocktail glass.  Top with chilled champagne.  Garnish with an apple slice.

Vampire Blood Sangria

1 bottle cabernet sauvignon (or merlot)
16 oz. pomegranate juice
2 oz. orange liqueur
16 oz. sparkling water

Pour the cabernet, pomegranate juice, and liqueur into a pitcher and stir well.  Let this refrigerate overnight to infuse the flavors. Just before serving, add the sparkling water to the pitcher or punch bowl and stir. Have glasses pre-rimmed with orange slice and red sugar crystals.

(Fun Idea: Make a non-alcoholic version of this for the kiddies using purple grape juice in place of the wine, orange juice in place of the liqueur, and Sprite in place of the sparkling water.)

Caramel Apple Mimosa

2 oz. apple cider
2 oz. caramel vodka

Rim a champagne flute with caramel sauce and then dip in cinnamon sugar. Pour apple cider and caramel vodka into a glass and top with champagne. Garnish with an apple slice.

Dead or undead, no one can resist these cocktails.  Drink responsibly and have a happy Halloween!
